To reduce costs, manufacturers generally control the lower limit of nickel between 8.0-8.2%. When CrNi reaches a certain value, a certain amount of ferrite will appear in the steel structure, and ferrite is magnetic; at this time, through solution treatment at 1050~1080℃, the ferrite can be completely dissolved into austenite, so no magnetism will be produced
During cold working of austenitic stainless steel, deformation martensite will be produced, thereby increasing the strength of the stainless steel, and deformation martensite is magnetic. Solution treatment and homogenizing annealing can make the deformation martensite disappear, but will reduce the strength of the steel.
